"The Joys of Christmas"

"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night."  "For unto you is born this day inthe city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord."  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."  Luke 2:8--
The true spirit of Christmas is the celebration of His coming into the world to provide forgiveness, hope and eternal life.  The church calendar is full of exciting opportunities for us to celebrate the birth of the Savior.  In this edition of the newsletter you will find information concerning the various opportunities for us to celebrate the true JOY of Christmas.

In our society today Christians are faced with the overwhelming challenge of confronting our culture with the presentation of the true meaning of Christmas!  The world says 'happy holidays, but Christians say "Merry Christmas". The word JOY can help us remember what Christmas is all about.

                                              J - Jesus First!
                                             O - Others Second.
                                              Y - Yourself last.

When the priority of living is Jesus, everything else about Christmas begins to fall into place.  God bless you as together we celebrate the 'real reason for the season'!

                                              Merry Christmas!

Ps. 16:11

P.S.  This has been an exciting year for me.  I have learned so much and it is my goal to grow in my personal relationship with the Lord and with the congregation of First Baptist Church.

The web page has been an exciting area of personal learning for me and our staff as we continually strive to have an informative and exciting web site for our members and visitors who desire to learn more about the First Baptist family.

We have added this link for you to witness a pictorial journey in the life of your pastor.  These are exciting days and I am excited about the tremendous potential First Baptist has to reach our community and the world for Christ.
