March 2006

From the Pastor's Desk:

I am really excited about some neat things that are taking place here at FBC.  As Henry Blackaby would often say; "Find out what God is doing and get in on it!"  Our challenge is to discover what is going on and prayerfully determine how I can become involved?

Two of these exciting opportunities of ministries opening up here at FBC are the Disaster Relief Ministry and the Mission Trips to Pascagoula, MS.

  • January 24th: Over 50 people were present in our Chapel for the Disaster Relief Training.  We are excited about this potential ?manpower' of ministry in times of disaster.
  • March 10th - 17th:  We have a team leaving March 10th to work with the Riverside Baptist Church for a week.  This team is comprised of Barry Wood, Bob/July Arlinghaus, Bob/Sandy Adams and Allen Lucas.  The work of this team will be primarily construction in nature.
  • July 10-16th:  A combined Mission Team trip with Fort Thomas Baptist Church.  We will be involved in some construction work, but it will mostly involve outreach into the community.  We will be having a very important introductory, planning meeting concerning this trip on Thursday, April 27th  at Fort Thomas Baptist Church (7:00 - 9:00 pm) where Bro. Joe Boone is the Pastor.   If you think you might be interested in going on this trip, it is very important that you attend this informational meeting.
  • During our regular monthly business meeting on Wednesday evening, March 8th, we will be discussing our future relationship with the Riverside Baptist Church of Pascagoula, MS.
  • March 11-18th:  Please include Chelsea Clark in your prayers as she makes preparation to leave for a mission trip to Garca, Brazil.  She will be going with a team from Georgetown College.  If you would like to assist her, please call the office for more information concerning her mission trip.

God is opening to us /doors' of opportunities for ministries, both here in Walton and to the regions beyond.  Do we dare go through those 'doors'?  Are we willing to give financially in order for others to go in our place?  Will we respond in prayer for these 'windows of opportunity' that have opened to us?

Yes, we will go, we will give and most of all we will pray for the work of God and for the salvation of souls. God bless you dear folks of FBC as together we do 'great commission' ministry!

See you Sunday as once again we "wield the two-edged sword of God's Word".

Because of Calvary,
Bro. Hale
