Recently, I was reading a news item about the power of teamwork.  The article was talking about how Teamwork enabled the Pistons to beat the heavily favored superstars of the Lakers in last year's playoffs.  Did you know that Teamwork is one of those vital ingredients that have made our church great?  The strength of the whole is greater by multiples than the sum of individual effort.  This is true in sports, in business and in the church.  Too often we look to superstars in the Christian community to do all the work.  Just because the word 'minister' is not printed across your front door does not mean you are not a minister for the Lord.  YOU are a vital part of the work and ministry of First Baptist Church.  Together we can accomplish great things for the Kingdom. 
There are several ways we can work together for the accomplishment of the mission entrusted to First Baptist.

  1. "Miracle Harvest" Month - September. During the month of September our Stewardship Ministry Team is challenging each one of us to prayerfully consider the Tithes.  The biblical principle of tithing means that God owns it all and desires for His children to give back a portion which is rightfully HIS.  During the month of September, give a tithe; a love offering above your tithes or consider placing FBC in your Will.  Pray for God's guidance in the area of financial freedom.  The challenge is for all of God's people to give in order to see what great things He will do.
  2. Old Fashion Day:  Sept. 10th.
    I am excited about this potential of ministering to thousands of people coming to Walton.  The OFC building will be turned into an "Oasis" to minister to people throughout the day.  If you would like to help, please call the church office.
  3. Pray for the 3rd Annual Ladies Conference, Sept. 17th.  What a wonderful opportunity to invite your neighbors, friends, and family members to a day of fun, food and fellowship. 
    Pray for Mrs. Sandy Maddox as she comes from Orlando, Florida to speak at this event. 

These are just a few of the upcoming events for the month of September.  TEAMwork is everyone working together to accomplish our goal of reaching people for Jesus Christ.  Are you on the TEAM?
