September, 2008 Did you know that the city of Walton will be celebrating its 35th year of putting on Old Fashion Day? Each year OFD continues to grow and thousands of people gather in our fair city for fun, food and lots of activities. On Friday night, Sept. 12th, there will be a fireworks show held at the new TownCenter located on Mary Grubbs highway. Saturday, Sept. 13th is the official opening of OFD with the parade and all kinds of events planned. In other words, the opportunities for outreach is unbelievable! We want to invite YOU to be a part of a huge volunteer base that will provide literature, cookies, lemonade and games for missions. In the field on the north side of the sanctuary we will be having an exciting block party atmosphere. There will be two inflatable's for kids as well as Christian music being played in the background for all to enjoy. Jessica Hollen and her team is working on another ?award' winning float to be presented in the OFD parade. To make this ministry of outreach possible we will need much prayer, financial assistance and personal involvement. We will need volunteers to man the tables, serve the cookies and lemonade, set us and take down tables, and share their Christian faith. During Old Fashion Day, let's be ?seed sowers' of the word of God, praying for the harvest of souls coming to the Savior.
