Welcome to First Baptist Church

How grateful I am for the blessings of God upon the ministries and activities of First Baptist Church.  I am especially excited about two new ministries being added to our church.

MOPS:  Pray for MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), which began on Tuesday, September 20th and will meet every third Tuesday of each month (during the school year). Summer Landrum will be the director for this program

AWANA:  Please pray for the new AWANA program, which begins on Sunday, October 2nd.  It will meet every Sunday evening from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm.  Megan Jones and Phyllis York will be co-director of this program.

Like anything else in our church, it takes money to finance ministries, so let me encourage you to be faithful in the giving of your tithes and offerings for the ongoing ministries of First Baptist Church.

The month of October is going to be an exciting month in the life of our church.

  • "Throw Out the Lifeline":  The S.S. Ministry Team led by Scott Young, has been working hard to provide for you a tool for reaching more people for Bible Study in Sunday School.  This High Attendance emphasis will conclude on Sunday, October 23rd. It will be a fun time as we see who can sign up the most number of people; the men or the women?

Once you've signed yourself and your family on the correct color slip (men-blue, ladies-pink), then you can go after anyone, men or women to sign up for your team.

  • "Revelation Revival" (October 23rd-26th):  Our revival team is Dr. Mel Poe, Evangelist and pastor from Calvary Baptist Church in Union City, TN. Our music worship leader will be Bro. Arnie Forman, Associate Pastor/Minister of Music for the Union Baptist Church in Union, KY.

There will also be a noonday luncheon (Monday-Wednesday) and Bible study led by Dr. Mel Poe.  We will need your reservations in order to have plenty of food for the study on "The Tabernacle".

Let's do our part in inviting everyone to our "Revelation Revival", which will be a preaching/teaching series of the last book of the Bible-Revelation.

See you Sunday as together, we open our hearts and mind to the two-edged Sword of God's Word.

                      Because of Calvary,
Bro. Hale,  Ps. 16:11.
