Ps 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. (KJV)

We have so much to be thankful for especially at this time of the year.  In this particular Psalm, David is speaking of entering the temple or in our case the church building an attitude of thankfulness? We need to come together as a family of faith to express our gratitude for all that He has done and is doing in our lives.

Dear people of FBC, have we grown slack in our attitude and expression of thankfulness? Do we take God's blessings for granted? Do we worry about so many needless things when He has supplied so much for us? If so, it is time to "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name."

I would like to call to your attention several very important events in the month of November.

  1. Samaritan Purse:  Pray for and bring your boxes for our annual Samaritan Purse Shoebox ?Christmas Child' ministry.  The dates are October 29th-Nov. 12th.  Please don't forget that they are now asking for $7.00 instead of $5.00 to be placed in the box.
  2. Veteran's Day:  Nov. 12th:  This will be a very special day in which we honor our veterans.  In the morning service we will pay tribute to our veterans; both living and dead who have served our nation through the military.
  3. Thanksgiving Supper:  Nov. 18th:
I am looking forward to this wonderful night of food, fun and fellowship, planned by the hospitality team of First Baptist.  Make sure and get your reservation in early for a great program and lots of food.

On this night we begin our CHALLENGE GOAL for the KBHC:  Everyone is asked to bring pennies to our Thanksgiving Supper in order to complete our second 'mile of pennies' for the Ky. Baptist Home for children.  Wishing wells are located around the church building for you to drop in your pennies and loose change.  $840.80 = one mile of pennies.

PERSONAL WORD OF GRATITUDE:  At this thanksgiving time of the year, my wife and I would like to express how grateful we are for the honor and privilege of serving this great church.  God bless you -we love you and thank God for you.  See you on Sunday as together we open our hearts and mind to the two-edged Sword of God's Word.
