Pastors Life

In the book "Experiencing God", Henry Blackeby basically is challenging believers to 'find out what God is doing and get in on it'.  When you look around First Baptist Church you will find some exciting things happening and you are challenged to 'get in on it'.
* Mission Organizations:  The various mission organizations are growing out of space and it's so exciting to see all those boys and girls riding on the bus and van for the various Wed. night programs offered for them.  The kids number anywhere from 50-100 on any given Wed. night.

  • Awana meets every Sunday night and the kids are having fun and memorizing scripture.
  • The WOM (Women On Mission) and LOM (Ladies On Mission) are involved in so many different aspect of ministry.  One of the new ones that they are doing is filling baskets with many items that are given away at hospitals, nursing homes, etc.  The LOM have adopted and are supporting a family from Clear Creek Baptist Bible College.  They are Jason and Crystal Whicker who have two children and one on the way.
  • Senior Adult Ministry:  Every month we have two Senior Adult groups that travel somewhere for great fellowship and food.  Several people have been reached through this very valuable service.  This year we will be making our third trip to Branson, MO with another church group for some great fun and fellowship.
  • Ladies Ministry:  For several years we have had two major events per year.  This year a Ladies Tea will be held on Sat. May 10th and a Conference will be held in the Fall.
  • Men's Ministry:  Last year we conducted our first ever Men's Conference.  Every other month we gather on Sunday morning for an early morning men's prayer breakfast prepared by the men of our church.
  • Creative Ministries:  WOW, what a powerful presentation they gave for us recently in the morning service.  Once again they will be attending the Creative Ministries Conference held in Louisville, KY in order to sharpen their skills in presenting the gospel in such a unique way.
  • Various S.S. classes have adopted various projects of ministry:  One class sponsored a benefit for a family who had lost their 10 year old son.  Another S.S. class collects clothing and food items for Oneida and other places.
  •  The Choir meets weekly and prepares for us exciting music of praise and worship.  They are currently working on an EASTER presentation.

Guess what?  I have left someone out, but my space for this month newsletter article is limited.  If you, your S.S. class or mission organizations is doing something that you would like for us to know about, write me a letter, email me, call me and let us know so that others can 'find out what God is doing and get in on it'.  If nothing else, they can pray for your work and we can all join together in Praising the Lord for the great and marvelous things HE IS DOING in our presence.

Because of Calvary,
  Bro. Hale, Ps. 16:11
