February has definitely been one of the most unusual winter months we have ever experienced.  Many of us are counting down the days until Spring finally arrives.  In spite of the intense cold, ice and snow we have been blessed here at FBC and we are so thankful for HIS blessings.

Hopefully March will be much warmer because there are many exciting activities that will be taking place and we want you to be a part of them.

  • Bible Conference, March 4th-7th:  Dr. David & Jan Walters will be with us for our annual Spring Bible Conference.  Bro. David and Jan have four children: John, Peter, Rebecca and Stephen.  The material for this year's study is over the Letters of John:  I, II & III John.  On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday there will be a special noon day luncheon with Bro. David speaking at that time.  You are encouraged to sign up in order to ensure a meal and a blessing at the noon day study.
New Sunday School Starts:  Bro. Marcus is working diligently to help our Sunday School restart classes as well as begin new classes.  Pray for Mac McFarland as he continues to rebuild our college/career Sunday School class.
  • We are excited about starting a new class to be called the Auditorium Bible Class.  Plans are for us to begin this class on Easter Sunday for members and visitors who are late for regular S.S. or for those who have no class to attend at this time.  The class will begin at 10:00 am and end at 10:30 am in order to allow our musicians and tech support people ample time for sound checks for the morning service.

One of my most favorite Bible verse is Psalm 16:11. "You will show me the PATH of life. In Your PRESENCE is fullness of joy, At Your right hand are PLEASURES forevermore." (NKJV)

There are three significant words found in this verse that I would like to call to your attention.

PATH: God wants us to follow the path of life that He has laid out before us.  There is the pathway of salvation; the pathway of service and the pathway of righteousness.  When we walk with God the journey is important, and not just the destinations and goals.

PRESENCE:  How do we maintain our level of commitment and spirituality?  We do so by living in His presence through prayer, Bible study and fellowship with God's people.  The more we spend time with Him, the more we become like Him and reflect His goodness and grace.

PLEASURES:  God is good all of the time, and He delights in bestowing on His people the joys and blessings of life.
All of this and so much more are the reasons why this verse is one of my favorites.  As we walk in His Path; delight in His Presence, we will enjoy the Pleasures of His blessings and the Joy of living in His Will.
Looking forward to seeing you Sunday as together we open the Word of God.

Bro. Hale, Ps. 16:11
