"Winning the lost - Finishing the race".

It is hard for me to believe that 2006 is coming to a close and we will be ushering in 2007.  Yet, I believe that we live in exciting times.  Yes, it's truly an exciting time to be a Christian!  Of course that statement would be true at any point in history, but is especially true today. The signs of the times all indicate that the return of the Lord is near. The situation in the Middle East continues to be a hot bed of intense and dangerous activities. Society is becoming more and more intolerant of the biblical worldview. We are witnessing an increase of natural disasters such as tsunamis, hurricanes, earthquakes and other erratic weather patterns. What should be our reaction to these times? We don't have to wonder about that. Jesus told us that when we see all these things begin to come to pass, look up for our redemption draws near' (Luke 21:28). That's why I said it's such an exciting time. As concerned as we may be about the world's condition, it is a biblical reminder that the plan of God is not only on track, but is nearing its completion. He commands us not only to be aware of the significance of the day, but to "watch" and "be ready". I believe the best way to do that is to obey the teachings and principles of God's Word which can be summarized into two simple phrases: "Winning the lost - Finishing the race".

As we near the day of the rapture of the church, we should have an urgency to win the unsaved to Christ. The rapture will also be the door that takes the church into the judgment seat of Christ, where we will give account of our stewardship and service for Christ.  To finish well, is to faithfully live, consistently serve, and to never quit living the truths and principles of God's Word.  One of these days He is going to call us home, and what joy it will be to hear Him say, ?well done, faithful servant'.  The realization that the time is near for that encounter should certainly encourage our hearts to live righteously, serve faithfully and continue to tithe biblically.

So let's move forward into 2007 - winning the lost and finishing the race - for His glory!

What a wonderful year we had in 2006!  Thanks to our wonderful staff and to all of our precious volunteers and member of FBC!  Let's commit ourselves to making 2007 the greatest in the life and history of FBC.
