August 2006 I am writing this article on Monday, July 10th in Pascagoula, MS with the Making Memories in Mississippi Mission Team. There are 4 other churches that have joined with FBC and Fort Thomas on this mission project. This project was developed under the leadership of Bro. Tracy Martin (Pastor of the Riverside Church), Bro. Joe Boone (Pastor of Fort Thomas) and Barry Woods. The work has been hot, difficult, but very rewarding. The team has painted, done drywall, passed out Bibles and Back yard Bible Club brochures. We have had almost 40 kids (as of Tuesday-July 11th) to attend the BYBC being conducted here at the Church. What an exciting time we are having. Think of it: your financial gifts have been used to feed the team, the multitude of kids and families in the surrounding areas. Provided necessary supplies for crafts as well as various supplies for rebuilding homes in the Pascagoula community. The fellowship has been wonderful and the devotionals given by Joe Boone each evening has helped create a bond of joy and excitement within the Mission Team. Those who are here representing FBC are: Today is Thursday, July 13th and we are receiving daily communications from he Mission Team regarding the work that is being accomplished in MS. Pray for them as they complete the various projects and the BYBC. They will have a Celebration Service on Sunday, July 16th with Joe Boone preaching. After lunch, they will begin the long trek home to KY. Remember to pray for them. God is providing us with some great mission opportunities. Kathleen and Sarah Daly are in Jamaica this week. Recently we had Katie Goins and the mission team from Rochester, NY here in Walton. People need the Lord and the folks of FBC are volunteering their time, giving financially and most of all, praying. Thanks to all of you for a job well done. Working together we can accomplish so much for the glory of God. God bless you First Baptist family as together we serve the Lord. Because of Calvary, |
